The true purpose of Artificial Intelligence AI is to replace the greatest liability to an organization; the human being. From a cost perspective, AI is a one time investment. On the other hand humans are ongoing investments, which require expensive benefits. Humans require health insurance, personal time off, workers compensation claims, sick days. A sentient computer only requires electricity.
As a Masters of Business Administration I can say this; workers are considered a liability to a company and a drain on corporate profits. So from a business stand point, if the company could layoff 15,000 workers and implement an Artificial Intelligence to do the job; it would be a win win for any company, their shareholders, and their executive team.
Now lets think bigger, what if the AI could run the whole company and maximize earnings. Sure the Shareholders would win, but at what cost. Also, if one company were to do this, surely every company would follow suite.
Now what would be humans’ purpose on earth if AI ran everything. If no human was working, the economy would collapse because no one would earn any money, because the computers would be doing everything. Maybe consumers could buy a robot as property and have them work for them, and collect income on the properties behalf. I am not going to say what this situation sounds like.
Last question to ponder. Has an AI construct ever created world Class Customer Service to anyone?
